'TWO-TWO-EIGHT-ZERO'
Installation for FESTA 2016
This project was an installation for the Festival for Transitional Architecture (FESTA) 2016, a celebration of design and architecture in the earthquake-afflicted city of Christchurch. The focus for the festival was 'Lean Means', concerning resource consumption, and responsible use of materials. This particular scheme utilised hundreds of identical, bright yellow seed bags, a material that, though lightweight in physical appearance, has an immense environmental impact. The finished installation reflected this: When the wind was blowing, the form was dynamic, and billowing, but when the wind was still, the form became extremely solid, and weighty.
